2010 ac issues
2010 ac issues
2010 civic 1.8.
Ac compressor won't turn on? Freon level ok. Relay ok, fuse ok, if I jump straight power to compressor it kicks on. I did the dianogstic codes for control panel in car and no codes came back. One main question I have is should fans come on automatically when you turn ac and fan on? Because the fans aren't turning on with ac. The fans only turn on when temperatures gets up and they cycle to cool the engine down. Thanks in advance.

Re: 2010 ac issues
My 2010 a/c acts up periodically also. The fan does come on when the a/c is turned on so something is amiss with yours. Not sure what that might be. The issue I have is on long drives my a/c would suddenly quit. Prior to this there is no condensation ( fog?) coming out of the vents to indicate ( as I have had in my other cars) a low freon situation. After about 20 minutes of continuing to drive when the a/c is turned on it then works. Many years ago I swapped out, IIRC , the clutch relay as it was indicated in this forum that the original relay was not reliable. I am not sure if thats the problem I am having now , a weak relay? if there is such a condition? Maybe someone else who have had a fix can chime in.
Re: 2010 ac issues
Ya your civic sounds like what I had going on for months in summer. I never fixed that issue and people have said that the actual climate control panel. I'm wondering now if my climate control panel finally just took a dump on ac side of it? Ordering one from local junk yard. Will post results.
Re: 2010 ac issues
Did you try the relay? I will take a peak under the hood and report back as to which one it might be. I believe there are two similar relays on the fuse block that you can interchange, so hang on and I will post back soon
