Possible fuel filter?

Question Possible fuel filter?
I have a 2005 Honda Civic LX that I bought in March. Since I have been researching all the regular maintenance items. Something I found weird is that my model doesn't have a fuel filter outside of the gas tank. Recently, I found this weird canister under my driver side rear axle and it looks like a fuel filter but I have no idea the part (can't find any other examples anywhere) and if it is actually a fuel filter.

If anyone has any idea or can help it would be much appreciated!

Thats something for the evap system, not a fuel filter
