Hello all. I own a 1998 Honda civic LX 4 door sedan. Its original motor was a D16y7 AUTO TRANS. The motor blew up last year so I swapped in a D16y8 (kept my auto trans) that did not have the vtec hooked up or running in the car it came out of. I have driven the car around for almost a year now with no vtec and I would like to get it hooked up. I have everything I need to do so except for an ECU. I’ve heard that there is a very specific oem ECU I can plug and play so I don’t have to chip one. I would like to go that route but I need help knowing what oem ECU serial # I need to be looking for. I’d anyone could help guide me in the direction on what serial # I need to be looking for or what civic I could pull one from in a junkyard that would be fantastic. Thank you!
