Hello, I have a 98 civic hx that I'm getting ready to do a motor swap on. I recently purchased the motor and trans out of a 99 civic Ex. As I've been reading online, there are some differences in the obd system. I've seen alot of motor swap guides for hx, but I haven't found anything going from the d16y5 to the y8. I'm sure it's been done, but being a novice to doing motor swaps, I'm just curious what to know going ahead, and what parts i will for sure need. I've been told that all I'll really need is a p28 ecu and an obd2-obd1 jumper harness. I've found that typically things arnt that easy. If this question has been asked and answered, I apologize. Its likely I've missed it. Any Information and advice would be greatly appreciated.
