civic hx?

Hi can someone please tell me what an "HX" model od a civic is. Ive tried to look it up in the internet but all i have found is that it has a 1.6 litre v-tec. after going over my car i noticed that it doesnt have ac or a power outlet. is that the only thing different about an hx? also i noticed on every car ive seen with a v-tec motor in it, the valve cover says v-tec. Mine doesnt. How do i know for sure.

thanks for looking.

Re: civic hx?

HX uses a slightly different motor called vtec-E lean burn. hx does have vtec motor. it is more efficient and generally gets much better mas mileage as high as 45mpg or more. it has two cat converters to deal with the emissions. the hx does come with a few different features like alloy wheels and other goodies, but it is similar to the LX civic in almost every other way. hx also has the option for a CVT auto trans. its a continuously variable transmission with infinite gears since it is pulley and belt driven. this type of trans includes a "sport shift" mode for more power.

Re: civic hx?

I had a polaris trailblazer with a variable transmission... it's a four wheeler.... anyways, you never had to shift and the your rpms went up and just stayed up kind of... i dunno how it explain it, the engine got to maximum hp/torque and stayed there and the transmission did all the work..... i liked it cuz it made it a land rocket.
