02 Civic LX no crank no start
02 Civic LX no crank no start
Hey everyone! First time poster here. My Honda Civic won't start. Over the last week it's been having a harder time starting (cranking slower and slower) now it won't start at all. Getting good power everywhere. Battery tested-good. Starter tested- good. Starter relays replaced-good. Fuses all good. When I turn the ignition to start the relays all click but no sound or movement at all from the starter. Lights do not dim when ignition turned to start. Could it be corroded cables that I just can't see? No corrosion at the terminals. No corrosion at the connections to starter. Maybe ignition switch? I'm at a loss here and I'm supposed to start a second job in 2 days.i need to get this fixed or I'm not going to be able to make it to work. Any help is so greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've had the battery tested at a parts store. Full chargeand good under load. I took the starter off and had them hook it up to a machine to run power through it. It spins and the starter drive gear engages properly.

Does it look like this?
The cable ends can get corroded under the clamp and cause a no crank problem

Re: 02 Civic LX no crank no start
if there really is no issue with wiring from battery to starter, what is left is from key to starter
could even be at the steering column, maybe wiring for the starter wiring is damaged somewhere if lights are not dimming

I'm on my way to get some new battery cables and terminals. On closer inspection the cables do seem pretty corroded. Particulatly the ground. It's totally uninsulated and exposed. Very green. Fingers crossed this is the problem!
