2003 Honda Civic Transmission Issue - P0730

Hey Guys,

I'm having a transmission issue with my Civic.
When I put it in drive and press the gas pedal, the revs go up, but the car barely moves forward.
The same thing happens when I put it in reverse.

The car also makes a high-pitched noise.

I checked the check engine codes, and these are the ones that appeared:
P0730
P1298
P0700

Here's a short video where you can see that it's not driving and can also hear the high-pitched noise:

What could be wrong?

Thank you
Josef

P0370 is incorrect ration and that means the trans is shot. The clutches are worn out.
If the fluid is not red, then it was run too long without oil maintenance.
Also the Achilles heel of these transmissions is the oil filter. its too small, it clogs up with clutch material, and doesnt let the oil circulate, which is why you hear the whining noise and the car isnt moving. when the oil cant move, the car doesnt either.
So you need a trans rebuild. Since the oil filter is internal, the only way to fix it is cracking the case open.

I also would advise you should do a search with the engine codes first before posting, because this problem is pretty much the standard for this generation. Actually most if the problems are relatively popular.

If you remove and install the trans yourself, rebuild trans can be around $900-1200.
If you take it somewhere for them to do all the work, its $2500 at least.
