it has nothing to do with the tyranny being bad, solenoids, wiring, sensors or literally anything bad. It's because the JDM autos have 2 more teeth than the US counterparts, doesn't seem like it makes a big difference but it is enough for the ECU to pick it up.

I am reluctant to pull the tranny and send it back because it would be 300 dollars to ship it plus the ATF fluid to do it all over again. So here is what I will do for everyone on the web searching this issue. I will flush the tranny, get new selenoids and just drive it with the code on and see what happens. If it fails....it fails. I see a lot of people who just go drop 2500 at a dealership with this cel. I will have the tranny rebuilt if it fails.
So what happened here. I have the same code on a 2002 Honda Civic EX. Tranny has 80,000 miles on it. Only comes on at 60 mph after 5 minutes on open road. I’m thinking of ignoring as there are no other symptoms I can detect. I changed the fluid 3 times and no burnt smell. My Civic was made in Canada. Not sure about the tranny, I didńt do it but it came with a receipt, but doesn’t say much. I’m super interested in knowing what you did in the end. Thx
