Re: p1768

Do you know if it was swapped from an automatic to a manual transmission? The ECU may not have been changed.

Not that we know of I'll run the Vin later and see if it was originally auto.

Re: p1768

That would be my first move. It'd be unusual to have automatic codes from something that never had any automatic components.

Another problem may be that the old ECU fried at one point and someone just swapped the first ECU they could find which was an auto.

Re: p1768

if the ecu was from an auto or if the car had a manual swapped in, is the code something we can just ignore or is it something we are going to have to deal with asap.

Re: p1768

I'm not sure. In theory, I think you could ignore it since the warning is for parts that technically don't exist, but I would still replace the ECU for good measure.

Re: p1768

Checked the vin and the car is a manual so maybe the ecu was replaced. is there anyway to check the ecu to see if its from an auto?

The serial number will tell you. I can't remember what they are off the top of my head.
