PO700 and PO730

I have a 1998 civic ex with the d16y8 and its an automatic. It doesn't want to shift out of first gear till about 4,000 rpm but when it does it goes right to 4th. when i manually shift it into second it will but it will never go into third. im thinking its the shift control solenoid mounted on the bottom of the tranny but I'm not sure. Can anyone help? side note: where is the tranny fluid filter located?

Re: PO700 and PO730

P0730, Computer commanded a certain gear but the shafts aren't spinning at the right speeds for that gear ratio

It can't shift into 3rd gear, but why? Did it finally wear out 3rd gear clutchpack, or something else?

Describe onset of symptoms, re: time

Slowly getting worse at shifting for ??days/months, w/e,.... finally today the warning light came on?
Solenoids probably won't fix it.
but
It was shifting like a new car all day then after that stop light turned green suddenly it wont shift until the engine is screaming in pain
Might gamble

Re: PO700 and PO730

I doubt it’s any clutch pack or mechanical issue because it just happened all of a sudden. It would shift through all the gears super smoothly and then a day later It just decided to take a ****. I got the codes, and noticed the shifting issues.
I also noticed that the speedometer needle sometimes wobbles too or even jumps to 20mph faster than what I’m actually going and then it wobbles a bit again. So that’s sort of telling me it could also be the tranny speed sensor failing
