my tranny is slipping

I am at 38,000 miles and my tranny just started slipping. (auto).

When i'm in first gear at about 3000 to 3500 RPM instead of a clean shift to 2nd gear, the engine revs upto 4k RPM and then shifts. I feel every shift now from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd.

My motor guy told me to try a transmission additive fluid, but that if it doesnt work, i just will eventually have to get a new tranny.

Will a level 10 tranny fit in a 2k1? What does a new tranny usually cost anyway?

I've actually never neutral dropped my car. I do floor it alot.. but the tranny really shouldnt be going out so quickly.

I wonder if a older gen civic's tranny would fit.

You might want to check the motor mounts. I know that in my neon, one of them was really sloppy, so I'd feel every shift. Motor mounts shouldn't be too expensive and too hard to install. I'd start there first.

Sounds like you've fried it, lots of fast starts on stock trannies not designed for performance driving aren't going to last long. The additive might work but I really dought it.

My tranny is slipping too... Honda makes weak auto trannies. Never trusted them.. definitely not a Toyota.

I'm not sure if my tranny is slipping (i have an auto).
Sometimes when I'm in 3rd and I hit the gas so the car downshifts to second, the tranny would be kind of lost and jerks a couple of times before it can get to 2nd. Or something like that.
Is that a transmission slippage?

my main trouble w/ my tranny is when I'm slowing down from like 60 or so to take a turn at about 40 mph it jerks forward like it has trouble down shifting(it also does it sometimes around 25). Like from 4th to 3rd, and 3rd to 2nd. Asked dealer twice and said somthing about each wheel is independant and when going uphill it may downshift to make up speed and going downhill may be trying to downshift to compensate slowing down?????whatever
