I have a 2000 civic EX it has a D16Y8, i have to drive with a very sensitive foot. when i am accelerating i only go to abt 3k rpms and -0 on my boost gauge. when i go past that and let off i hear my strong blow off valve and than a check engine light appears. When i try to accelerate it pops and sound like it’s misfiring/backfiring. I put it in neutral and turn the car off and then give it abt 45secs-1 minute turn it back in and everything is okay. i have tried to read the code before but scanners won’t connect to my car i have tried two separate scanners now. anyways even if the scanner did work when i turn my car off and put the key into accessory the CEL turns off. so no codes tk be read . Stock internals as far as I know mostly everything is stock. The car was automatic converted to manual now from the last owner I did not know him. He also installed a turbo kit there’s a 57 mm turbo JDM sport wastegate and a decent size blow off valve. There’s an automatic ECU converted to a manual ECU there is an SST chip tune inside of the ECU. When he sold it to me he told me i need to get a hondata or something to tune it with but why would i need to do that when there’s a chip tune in it? it’s just not adding up and i need help. Stock injectors and stock fuel pump.

Since he mentioned needing to get it tuned this is probably what the issue is. You will need something like Hondata to get it running correctly is my guess.

It is a headache but i have to work with it. I would hate to go and buy the hondata just for it to not work properly with my car or not hook up correctly.
