2000 civic hx knocking cel on
Need help cel on rough idle. 2000 civic hx d16y5
Recently car ran fine, a dealer I went to in florida (just moved from there) changed egr valve and supposedly cleaned egr ports (not sure if they did). I put in a whole bottle of Lucas oil engine treated to get rid of carbon on piston heads and to clean egr. Well I drove it 20 miles from work and it died while I was cruising. Engine had a light valve train ticking prior but then it went to knocking. Just towed it back from florida yesterday and checked codes. Had misfire on all 4 cylinders and random misfire code (egr codes still on) cleared them and revved engine to 2k where you can hear knocking no load from ac compressor or driving. Old coworker said it sounded like piston knocking on valve train but car dies if rpm goes from a driving load 1.5k in 4th or 5th gear. Havent torn it apart. I am assuming I ate up rod bearings.

Drain the oil and check for metal. If you see metal flakes you might as well start looking for a used replacement engine as it will likely cost more to repair.
