New to me 98 Civic Cx. Crank wont Run.

My car drove 30 miles when purchased. It did quit running on the highway. I restarted it and drove home. It has a new fuel filter. The ignition recall has been done already. Could it be the fuel relay ?

Might be the man relay, might be lack of spark. You need to check which of those you are missing when trying to start the car

Thank you. The man that replaced the fuel filter told me that there is next to none, exhaust pressure coming out of the muffler. Could the catalytic converter be bad or clogged?

Certainly a possibility, you can loosen/remove the bolts that hold the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head and try to start it

Thanks again. My friend seems to think that would involve a gasket replacement. He doesn't want to do that. I'll hire someone.😜

It doesn’t.

Edit: My dumb *** read head gasket replacement. Ignore me. You could probably still get away with not replacing the exhaust gasket though.
