Re: 98 not starting

My 98 did the same number awhile back, it just wouldn't start. I replaced the fuel filter, checked spark and everything over and it turned out to be a connector (the one on the right side of the engine bay by the powersteering reservoir) that wasn't connected all the way. I snapped it together and she started right up.
Hope that helped, for what it's worth

Yes, the fuel filter is that acorn shaped thing by the firewall that has the line leading to the fuel rail. Pretty simple to change it out. Just gotta remember the bottom nut is backwards cause it's facing downward.

Need more info: what does it do.. crank but not start? Does it click at you when your trying to start it.

Check your fuel pump, put the key in the ignition and put it to II and listen to the fuel pump, it should engage.

Check to see if you have spark at the spark plugs.

Re: 98 not starting

Does the engine try and turn over?
When you switch it to the "On" position (but not starting it) do you hear the fuel pumps turn on and then the main relay "click"?
Have you check the spark at the:
Plugs?
Distributor?
Ignition coil?

The more info you post the better people can help you. There are a lot of components that go into starting a car mechanical and electrical.
