ABS light if RPM more than 2500
ABS light if RPM more than 2500
1997 Civic EX, manual, 147k miles. My ABS light started coming on when my RPMs exceed 2500. It will go off once it goes lower. It's not generating any codes. I've read the ABS module is sensitive to voltage - could this be an alternator issue at high RPM? Battery is fine, drives fine otherwise so far.
Re: ABS light if RPM more than 2500
When running with lights/AC/stereo at idle, it was 13.6-14.5v at various points.
When revving up to 2500+ in neutral, it hit 17.2v, though the ABS light didn't come on. Not sure if the light would be affected by being in neutral in my garage.

17v is bad, it should never go above 15v. Need a new alternator. Do not buy aftermarket, oe, new or from a junkyard. I think the oe supplier is mistubishi, might be denso. See if you can read the sticker on yours

That's outside my ability, so it would be a shop job. Mine was replaced 4 years ago with a remanufactured one. Guess I'll keep the RPMs low until I can get it in somewhere.
