1996 EX 4 Door Electric Windows Issue
1996 EX 4 Door Electric Windows Issue
I have a 1996 Civic EX in excellent shape with about 64,000 miles, well taken care of and kept in a garage. About 6 months ago, the driver's side rear door electric window stopped working. Then shortly after, the passenger side rear door electric window stopped working, then a while later the same for the passenger's window, and now the driver's door window stopped working. It can't be each motor burned out suddenly, and besides, I think the rear windows have gone up and down about 2 times per year. There must be another common issue. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
PS - not sure if it is relevant, but about 2 years ago the power door locks stopped working from the inside and with the key.

Check to see if the wiring harnesses in the doors are damaged, start with the driver's door

I believe there are 2 ground wires that go to the driver’s door. One is for the door locks. The other is for the power windows. As Colin42 suggested, both are routed through the door hinge harness. Sounds like you may have lost both of them. This is easily tested with a probe after removing the door panel.
