1996 honda civic fuel gauge problem
1996 honda civic fuel gauge problem
So i have a 1996 honda civic ex that was swapped to manual and now is using a manual 1998 honda civic cluster. The cluster was working fine and then i opened it up and broke the fuel gauge by accident, i went ahead and bought a new cluster and put it on and everything was working fine until i decided to take out the fuel and temp gauges out of the new cluster and just put them on in the old cluster since i wanted too keep the cluster that i had bc it had the original mileage of the car. Once i did that i realized that my temp gauge was working fine but my fuel gauge would go all the way up and it would stay there. i would open it up and push it back down and when i turned on the car again it would go back up all the way and it wouldn't go back down. Any ideas of what it could be?

From what I've read, it sounds like your sending unit is faulty, or the tach is just bad. I'm pretty sure the 6th gens don't have reset procedures.
Does this sound like your problem?
