car stereo wiring help

Hi, I just recently got an after-market stereo for my car. It is a dual xm270 stereo and I have a couple of questions about the wiring harness. My first question is about the orange and blue wire. The wiring harness that came with the radio doesn't have an orange wire and the blue wire has been blocked off by some heat shrink. My metra 70-1721 receiving wiring harness has both orange and blue wire. I am wondering if I am just leaving those orange and blue wires alone and covering them off, or am I supposed to connect them, and if so where? My second question is what is the best way for me to connect these? I think my soldering skills are decent enough to do this but are there any other ways that are better and less likely to mess up? The blue wire is supposed to be power antenna/ amp turn on, but I am not sure if my car has an amp or not. As for the antenna, how do I know if it is a power antenna? Thanks and here is a picture of both of the wiring harnesses below. The left is the one that came with the stereo and the right is the one that connects to the car's factory connector if I am correct.

Re: car stereo wiring help

Leave them alone, I use crimp connectors instead of solder but it's your call

Re: car stereo wiring help

leave 'em like Colin said. Loop them off, cover with a small bit of shrink wrap, leave the insulation on it. Whatever you wanna do to make sure the bare wires don't touch anything

Blue wire for the remote signal, save it if you hook up an aftermarket amp

Orange wire for the dimmer, that causes more issues that it's worth.
