Clear Coat Failure is on fleek so I am going to get a repaint, but also wanted to address the crappy looking exterior trim between windows and doors. See photos. A friend of mine dressed them up a few years ago with some kind of plasti-dip stuff but it has since peeled off.
My question: is there a simple part-replacement fix for this? Or some other kind of longer-lasting solution? Thanks

for those unaware, plast-dip is a temporary paint. It can be peeled off by hand the next day.
you feel like having a yellow car tomorrow? paint it with plast-dip. Next week, peel off the yellow paint.
it can also start peeling off by itself, it is temp, after all

Using a site like HondaPartsNow.com, you can find these pieces in "Interior / Bumper" > "Molding - Protector". Reference parts 1 and 4 for the front doors, 7 and 9 for the rears.

I had an '01 Civic, same issue.. I pulled them off, peeled that balck off, light sanded and rattle can sprayed with a rust-oleum flat black lasted fine for another 6 years til I traded the car for an '12.

Can they be poped off without removing the side-view mirrors? I am having this issue with my 01 LX as well and it is currently the main/biggest eyesore. I don't feel like spending $200 or so on the replacement pieces for now so I am looking for the easiest solution.
I'm thinking about either peeling off all the black and leaving it as-is for that chrome-like appearance or peeling off all the black and spraying it with black Plasti-dip.
Or, if it is really that easy to remove, do the above but with the piece off the car so I don't have to worry about masking off/overspray issues.
