So my old hood was rusted and cracked. Ordered an OEM rep part and went to install it today. Pretty much everything went fine, went to torque the bolts (my manual said 13 ft/lbs) and one of the 2 bolts on the driver side hinge that connects to the hood snapped clean off. Hadn't even hit 13 ft/lbs yet... Obviously super rusted. I don't have much space to get a drill in for an extraction set, and I'm honestly nervous to remove the other 3 to take the hood off because who knows if any of the other ones will break. My #1 questions is: Can i drive safely to work tomorrow? Do i need to worry about anything breaking and shifting? My second question is, there is a larger hole above the broken bolt hole (stupid, i know, but i put a ziptie in there just for peace of mind). Can i find a bigger bolt, maybe along with a washer, to fit in there? Will that be safe and secure? Thanks!!
make sure to close the latch otherwise should be ok temporarily
put some duct tape on that side for peace of mind
get into a highway and slowly up the speed to see if the hood start to lift or not.
wind gust will change the lift

got up to 80mph on my way to work today no issues. If i find a bigger bolt to go in that open hole do you think that will clear up the issue and keep it secure?
