2015 Honda Civic VTi-L Auto MY15 bluetooth error
Hi,
My bluetooth has suddenly stopped working. The only lit up button on the touch screen is the radio button. When i go into the settings > bluetooth setup there are three empty devices everything grey'd out bar the add button which does nothing. When in additional settings >version the screen gives me the bluetooth version, then the bluetooth address says "initializing" takes ages but then the dreaded black screen with "Bluetooth error" comes up. I have disconnected the battery to try and reset the system which didn't work. I've been searching for the bluetooth module with no luck. It's not behind and up in the glove compartment. Nothing i can see under the drivers side area where the fuses are, I'm assuming it's behind the touch screen which I am by no means qualified to get to.
I have called honda and they say $108 for a tech to look at it. If it is the Bluetooth module (assuming my model has one) and a replacement would fix the issue I'd go ahead with that option and probably be out of pocket by maybe $300? Or would it be wiser to go to an auto electrician rather than the dealership? I feel it's the module as the rest of the head unit is working. When I explained the problem to the lady at Honda she advised me a replacement head unit would be very expensive etc and suggested I buy an after market Apple Carplay which i would love but don't have a lazy $2000 sitting around for the unit and the install. Has anyone experienced a problem with their bluetooth not working and been down the road of a fix?
