Radio/Sat Nav Unit in Constant Loop of Reboot
Radio/Sat Nav Unit in Constant Loop of Reboot
Hi,
I thought this would be the best place to look for any further advice before I have to spend more money.
I have a 2016 SE Plus NAVI and since May 2020 my Radio/Sat Nav Unit has not been working.
I was browsing through the unit and I found an option to change the skin so I said I would see what it was like. The option then came up that the system would need to reboot to install the skin change. I proceeded and since that selection my unit has been in a constant cycle of rebooting itself. My reverse camera (without gridlines) will work however nothing else works, not even the steering controls or USB connections in the armrest.
I've brought it to a Honda Dealer and they were flabbergasted and despite being in contact with Honda Technical Department they could not find a solution.
The options given to me were purchase a new unit for €3,000 or obviously a second hand unit, with the same model number, at a much lower price.
I just find it hard to fathom how a software issue cannot be resolved so would be great if someone had any alternative suggestions? Otherwise I will go ahead and purchase a second hand one once one becomes available.
Many Thanks
