2006 Civic Remote Entry Problem

I have been slowly but surely having trouble getting the vehicle to lock/unlock using the remote. I thought it was the remote so I tried the 2nd set of keys I have and they did not work. Sometimes it will work with no problem, while other times it takes a few minutes and once I had to go through the trunk to get in
I was wondering if it was the actuator or if there is a sensor somewhere that might be bad
I am getting ready to replace me front speakers due to corrosion from humidity, which makes me wonder if the locks got it also

You need to listen to the drivers door during the 1st unlock press for any noise (from actuator motor) And also maybe look to see how the lock **** acts when unlocking drivers door as well (slight movement, sluggish)

I will check that
It does seem when it will not unlock, the manual unlock will not work either.
RIght now it is deciding to work, but I think when it does mess up I am not hearing anything, which makes me wonder if there is a reciever messing up

On your 1st press (drivers door only) are the parking lights flashing twice as they should ?? If they are the signal fom fob was received.

I have the same symptoms as you do. Here is a link to download the 2006 civic 4door ESM (electronic service manual). It shows step by step ways to test your actuators. I would post it on here but there wouldn't be any sense without any pictures.
