Not sure where to ask this question. My kid was driving down the expressway just cruising along and his driver side airbag just deployed out of the blue? Thank god he wasn’t hurt. He said he didn’t hit any potholes or anything. Not a scratch on front of car. It’s a 2011. He pulled over and shut it off collected himself and called me. Car started and he drove on to his destination as it was close by. Wondering what guidance you all might have? What would cause this? What would be the procedure for fixing? Appreciate any input. Also why would just the driver side go off and not all airbags?

take a a dealer, it's your best bet.
honda is sensitive to safety equipment like airbags, they are likely to check it throughly

8th gen civics were recalled due to faulty Takata airbags, passenger side specifically. I’m guessing yours wasn’t done.

The problem with the airbags is they will deploy randomly. Nothing prompts it.
