Airbag question

When i took out my dash to paint it I deconnected the passenger airbag and never connected it back up. The question is "will the air bag go off if i connect it back up"? Its been like 6 months it been disconnected just scared to connect it back up! I really want the airbags totally off but i wanna know incase i sell the car. Another question is that has anyone passed a inspection with there airbags disconnected? I may be needed a inspection sticker soon.

I really don't think they look that in-depth during inspections. I may be wrong though.

FIRST!!! Disconnect the battery and let the car sit at least 15 minutes, be safe and make it an hour. Reconnect the air bag and then reconnect the battery. When you start the car the processor should see that everything is functioning properly and the air bag light should go out.
Here in Ohio you do not have to have airbags in a vehicle to pass a salvage inspection, but it kills resale value if you don't.

at least with that method, if it does go off, you're outside of the car when it does (reconnecting the battery).

Srs light should go out when the processor sees all clear. If it for some reason will not go out you will have to take the car to the dealer to have it reset, but it should do it its self.
