Any advice for exhaust?

Hello everyone. I just ordered a Greddy Evo 2 for an 03 EX sedan. I'm going to put it on as soon as I get it. Is there anything I should know before attempting to put this on. Any unusual obstacles or problems anyone has come across before? Thanks!!!

Get some pb blaster spray cause the bolts are gonna be really tough to get out. Might not even be able to do itunless you're really buff

^^^^ Yeah.. I always have my friend tighten my bolts cuz I'm notorious for breaking bolts and stripping threads. When I installed my header I broke both bolts that mount to the down pipe. Good thing honda had em in stock. I like the evo2. Not too loud for an aftermarket exhaust. Installation is pretty straight forward.

It shouldn't be to bad. I did mine with no problem and I have never touched an exhaust before. I would get something (liquid wrench) to spray the bolts.

If you want to do it right, chase all old threads with a tap and die set and use a torque wrench. That'll keep you from snapping bolts.

So just make sure I spray all the bolts first. How long should I let the spray sit? Do you guys recommend using an impact wrench or can you do it all by hand as long as you torque the bolts right?

I got an impact wrench at walmart for 20 bucks that plugs in the cigarette lighter and get a universal elbow joint so you can work at an angle, surprisinly it works very well to get rusted bolts off!

I'ts kinda one of those projects where you sparay your penetrating lubricant of choice on the bolts and let it do it's stuff for a few minutes. Then just get under there and do what you have to do to get the bolts loose. slam your nuckles a few times, hit your head and then fu,k around with those rubber hangers and your done. Then when you start your car you get to smell that new exhaust parts "burning smell"...MMMM. Then your stoked with your exhaust till it rains and makes some "weird noise". Drive home in the rain and post your problem in the tech forum without searching first

you might need to remove your heatshield from underneath your car, since the aftermarket exhaust is bigger in diameter then the stock one it might hit your heatsheild near your cat-converter. all you need to do to remove that is unscrew the 3 bolts holding it on. i had to do that for my dc tcs2
