Question 2008 Civic Coupe [solved]

Premium stereo system. Having issues with the back speakers and sub suddenly not working. Right front still works. I think the left front might have a loose wire. The 3 speakers in the back is my concern. Is there some type of reset button, fuse that somehow affects all 3 speakers? I found a amp fuse under the hood, but it doesn't seem broken. I'm not sure, but the amp might be in the back right panel of the car. The trunk can only see part of it, mounted in the frame. help!

Ouch ZERO answers? Seems the right speaker has gone out as well now. So just the 2 tweeters in the far front can be heard. So it doesn't seem to be a fuse.

Anyone know if there is a pre-amp?

Unfortunately most of us don't have experience with 8th and 9th gen Civics. The only schematics I can find online are for the 2006 model and don't even show a sub. Here's what I can tell you though, there shouldn't be any amp/ground/fuse that would only affect the rear speakers/sub. The first thing I would check is continuity through one of the rear speakers with a meter, should see 4 or 8 ohms. If you don't see anything the speaker is bad.

Also ensure the fader hasn't accidentally been applied towards the front.

No help, but I have the same issue with my 2008 Civic EX Cpe., premium sound system no Navigation system... while searching came across your post.
Audio in front right/left speakers, maybe an issue with one of the tweeters, but in the rear I have no sound R/L or the Sub.
I have run the simple Diag. Radio power off, press and hold 1&3, power on brings up a simple sound test. Skip to move thru FR, FL, RR, RL, Sub, and alll to verify
Sound in front, no sound in rear.

There must be a common point somewhere causing this, its not likely that all 3 rear speakers are blown.

There is a common point, the radio. I'm leaning towards an internal fault in the module.

Seems like there is another common point the external Amp... in the '08 Coupe located under the front part of the console in front of the gear shift lever.

50/50 chance either way not inexpensive, wish I still had my old Oscilloscope.

re: 2008 Civic Coupe [solved]

Well, i did finally find out. Seems the speakers were 'getting old' and drying out. When my wife would play it loud, a speaker would give out. Took several weeks/months for most to finally fail. Had to replace just the speakers to fix the issue.
