No communication, probably the comm bus between modules is down for some reason.
Any other lights flashing on the dash?
What car do you have, specifically?? Year, trim, country?

Pick a flashing light,
Key off, wait 10 seconds, turn key on (don't start the engine)
count flashes to come up with numbers.
For most of the modules, Long flashes represent 10s digit, short flashes are 1s.
See how many of the lights are flashing fault codes.
See if you can get codes from all flashing lights?
Got a code reader or scanner?

Re: My dash keeps flashing the word "no"...
I was using a snap on solus pro
Scanners can interrupt communication and cause false codes, big time.
Why? (they have been so reliable here, I can only remember having to replace one...and that was on an Accord)
Still have the old one?
and I was using a snap on solus pro to relearn idle.
For some reason ckp relearns fine and I tried relearning idle for about 2 hours just now and idle is still inconsistent, slowly bumping from 900 to about 1800.
In ETCS system: TP position check?
For idle....
Tried a "PCM reset" then relearn?
Idle learn isn't done with a scanner.....just wipe memory and let it idle hot for about 10 minutes with NO electrical loads, in park. If the fans run add that time to the 10 minutes.
But it has to be pretty dang close to running right before it can learn idle. If it's surging it usually isn't a learn problem...more like a throttle body reset and minimum air rate learn.
Check if APP sensors are straying or steady? (datalist)
Re: My dash keeps flashing the word "no"...
So, I unplugged the scan tool and the dash went back to normal. My old throttle body wouldn't hardly open or close so I threw it out. The app sensors were reading very constant. No waivers unless I touched the pedal obviously. And I did the ecm reset prior to relearning idle. Gonna start it now with no scan tool and see what happens

Dealers scanner (HDS/IHDS) can do it too........ the vehicle to PC interface module is usually what causes it when I see it happen
