Anyone here enough of the word "rice" or "ricer"
Its been overly used now a days, mostly by domestic owners, they use the damn word like crazy....... in forums, even in real life, i'm sitting at coffee shop and everyday this dude keeps talking about his 8 block car and how rice civics are garbage, even says how ppl with civics that have g/f should hand them over to him so he can show the girls what a real car is............ man its too much

im sick of it to man. those domestic people should relize that our cars will still be runing while they are on there 3rd or 4th one.
what is his car? out of curiosity.... also this may just be me.. since the term has been around for awhile.. poeple are now being stereotyped into that catagory on first impressions alone... plus for every none thuggish civic owner in the game for both individual style and performance.. there are 10 16yr old thugs.. sportin mad stickers, wiper lights.. an talkin sh*t with there basic 20 dollar mods from pep boys..... its a sad fact..
Oh yea.. and having a fast car stock.. they dont understand or appreciat the enginuity of our little engines or understand the fun or skilled involved in what we are doing.

I've had enough of that sh*t. Rice this Rice that! Fu*k it all. Seriously, thats all everybody does....say oh this is Rice and that's Rice! I'm tired of hearing the word Rice! Next person that says Rice to my face will get a good beating. There is no such thing as RICE! It's just a stupid phrase some idiot came up with to make fun of imports. It's not "cool" to call a car rice!

it's like people don't know, their ignorance is showing and spreading, mainly though the people who stand true next to their 1991 Ford Mustangs and Cameros
well....if you car can beat his....then you tell him to shut the f*ck up......cuz if he cant beat ya he cant be talkin all dat smack
but if you cant....then you have no choice......either f*ck his car up or get new mods to blow him away........

Anybody who uses the term "rice" to refer to any Japaneese brand car is an idiot, rice is not about what company makes a car but what is done to it.
ANY make and model car can be riced out and anyone can be a rice boy.
Driving a Civic does not make you rice, driving a Civic with altezzas, led washer nozzles, a huge wing and a type R badge most certinaly does.
If you have a Focus with altezzas, led washer nozzles, a huge wing and an "SVT" badge your are also rice.
For that matter I have seen riced out camaros, mustangs and F-150s as well as other "american icon" models.

C'mon guys, lighten up!
The term rice was "created" to poke fun at the imports. For some it seems
to include anything less than an 8 cylinder, or cars with wild body kits & lights....
It's just bench racing fun, like:
FORD = Found On Road Dead
CHEVROLET = Cracked Heads, Every Valve Rattles, Oil Leaks Every Time
HONDA = Hold On, Not Done Accelerating
Owning BOTH a Mustang and a Civic must give me some kind of unique insight
that others don't possess, or maybe it's because I'm getting old (31)..Who knows...
I don't see what the big deal is. People have been arguing about who's car is
better as long as there have been cars, usually by using less than flattering terms
about the "other's" car. As long as it's all done in fun, we should be a little more
thick-skinned.
Some of you are right, though, a few "acquaintances" of mine do seem to be a
bit overzealous when they use the term "rice." Don't get into an argument with
any of these types. It's not worth it. Some people on this board have an
unusually strong animosity towards domestic vehicles. I don't see why....maybe
they're just having some good ol' bench racing fun.
Remember to take your cars to the track when you race! Get some time-slips!

It's sad that someone can come to this site expecting to gain insight into their car's potential, and even the MEMBERS HERE may call them a ricer, simply because their taste in vehicular modifications is different. . .but on the other hand, if you LIKE what you do to your car, then you shouldn't give 2PHUCKS what anyone else calls it. I don't give a damn if someone calls my car rice, simply because they don't like my altezzas, aluminum spoiler, 18" rims, and cat-back exhaust. To them it may be "rice, but to me it's all GRAVY. . . just my interpretation, but Idunno: YOU be the judge. 1

Yeah me too. I was about to post something like this. The other Benzsport forum I go to, it's rice this and I beat that ricer. It got to the point where I confronted the people using those terms and asked them what they meant about it.
I mean, it's like we can't do anything to our cars without simply being dismissed as a ricer. I am tired of it and I'm going to stop using the phrase. I have better things to do with my time than argue with other people who don't like my car.

That's right Civicster.
That's the spirit....make fun of my Rustang. It does have some rust on the trunk lid
,
but that's probably the only view you'd get of it, anyway!
You said it, "make FUN..."
If you're trying to be mean spirited when you say it, then I can see why people get all wrapped around the axle over comments like that. Otherwise, I say it's all part of the normal ribbing you get when benchracing.
Take it like a man!
Besides, it should feel good to beat someone (in a race, car show, whatever, after they call you a ricer, rustang, crapmaro, weedwhacker, etc...)
I've been called a ricer twice when attending my Mustang club meetings in my 2k1 Civic or 2k1 Odyssey. It's all in fun.

See, baller is getting in on the fun.
I wish I could counter that "gentleman's remark" with a
Civic, but that would not be cool.
I guess the fumes from my exhaust would make baller

Seriously though I agree there is a difference between a "rice" civic and a regular hooked up civic. I hate that I heard that myself from some guy when this kid was sitting there in his like 92 civic with his tin can exhaust and altezzas with all sorts of $20 mods but the dude called me a ricer when i have a brand new 05 EX SE. It kind of burns you for a second they you realize they are all just haterssssss
i agree its used way to often.
but even on here sometimes.. people will call others cars riced out because they dont like the way the car is done, its personal taste you do what you want for you not others, and there will be plenty of people ready to throw out the word rice if they dont like it. even if it does have expensive mods, or if it has more then a bodykit, rims, drop, system..that is considered "clean" but you do conversions, or other stuff and people even on these boards are quick to use the term rice....
ive seen people post pics of nice show cars with conversions and wide body, and other stuff and all of a sudden rice comes out.... I can just imagine whats going to be thrown out there when i finally do post pics of my car when all is done... im sure there will be alot of people ready to throw out the word rice.....

me i dont really care what ppl say the ppl that mess it up for us (people that really spend money on there car) is those ppl that spend about 100 at some lil store and thinking there gonna beat an evo, and civics that make mad noise but dont go any where
i seen a sweet cammaro on my way back from taco bell a few minutes ago. Well the only visible mod was a real nice aluminum spoiler...it was so rice the wing was bolted ontop of the factory spoiler
