Ticking noise fixed

so I take my car into work and tell the service guy my engine makes a really annoying ticking noise not only after the engine shuts off, but while the engine is running after it warms up. He tries to tell me it's normal, but I insist there's something wrong. So he has one of the techs check it out and they tell me it's normal. But being the persistant b@stard that I am, I tell him to keep on looking, so he did. About an hour later, he concludes that the b pipe in the exhaust system is defective. So they replaced it today, and my engine is so quiet. I was expecting some normal ticking noise from the engine cooling down, but there's no noise at all. I'm totally stoped.

just wanted to let anyone with this same problem know that it can be fixed. Demand that your dealership fix this problem.

Can you expound on what was defective about the "b pipe"? This section of our exhaust is just a long section of pipe with 2 very slight bends and a straight-through resonator. It's hard for me to imagine that it could be "defective".

Your input is greatly appreciated,

TJ

honestly, I didn't ask what was wrong with it. I just remember some people posting a long time ago that their engines made a ticking noise. Some people responded by saying this was normal. Well, it's not.

The only tick that I hear is from the head (lifters or rocker arms). The Honda dealership said it was normal to hear that because the engine was so quite when it ran. I think that they are full of it though.

TKS for the info on the B pipe though.
