Personally I will NEVER own another Honda product be it Acura or Honda unless it come directly from Japan and even then if I was to get a car from Japan it honestly wouldn't be a Honda. As far as the RSX-S being $25,000 when I test drove one it was stickered at $25,000 due to dealer extras added and the markup. In fact I think it was stickered a bit over $25,000. The RSX-S my hubby drove was also stickered at $25,000(two different dealerships). Also I went to another Acura dealership and the same thing they were stickered anywhere betweeen $23,000 and $26,000. As far as thre G35 sport coupe from what I have seen of it and from what the Infinity dealership told me they will be stickered between $25,000 and $28,000. They don't have a definate price yet but that was the info I have gotten so far and yes the G35 that is here right now is tagged at aproximatly $31,000. The GT-S, I could have gotten the "looks fast model" for $25,000 out the door. In my opinion it would be well worth it.[hr]

Also, with the Nissan 350Z ranging from $26.8k to $34.6k, don't be surprised if your G35 coupe (which shares the 350Z's platform and powertrain) will fall in the upper range of those numbers. And, yes, you can load a $23.2k RSX with dealer installed goodies ($4.65k, courtesy of build your own @ acura.com) and have the RSX fall in the 350Z price range.

Ok I went back to Infinity yesterday and you can get a G35 sedan for $27,000 easily. We could have walked out the door at that price. As for the Z car they aren't that great and there is an 8 month waiting list to get your hands on one. Saw one on the road yesterday and honestly they don't look much like the concept or the pics. They don't have a price for the sport coupe yet but it will be tagged near the price of the sedan. The RSX-S here in San Diego (at 3 different dealerships) have been tagged anywhere from $23,000 to $26,000 depending on DEALER MARK UP and the little extras they put on the cars. Yes you can go to something like Acura.com and check the price but you have to realize the dealerships mark up over MSRP and add things to the cars. The Si here has a $2,000 markup on it no matter what dealership you go to along with a $500 dollar deposit being required to test drive the car. So as fr as the G35 and RSX is concerned I will go with the extra $1,000 and a HELLA better car.

And since it is widely known that you hold huge grudge against Honda and Acura, I'm not exactly sure how accurate your own personal observations on the San Diego car market is. But even so, does that mean that your survey of half a dozen dealerships in one city is representative of the entire North American market? Does that mean a deal you can get on the west coast is equally available on the east coast? Ya, right ... and another thing, it is illegal in Canada for dealers to sell above MSRP.
But I suppose we really should be used to all your unsubstantiated generalizations by now
No Ronin I never said that is the whole market. I am telling you what I have seen and what I am looking at. I hope you are right and that Honda doesn't follow pattern across the world but here in SD the Honda companies suck. Yes the cars themselves are like apples and oranges but my point was for the price (approximatly $25,000 usd) I can think of a whole hell of a lot of cars that I would buy over the RSX. That was my point. Yes I do hate Honda there is no question there. I'm sorry Honda has nothing to be impressed by ESPECIALLY for the amount of money they are asking for their cars. Here in the states, or at least here in Cali the dealer can price the car however they want to. They can sell a Honda Civic for $50,000 as long as someone is willing to buy it. I know some people that would pay a whole hell of a lot more than a car is worth because of the badge on it. Such as the Si or the RSX. They are not worth nearly what the price tags here are on them. But because they have the Honda badge on them people will pay out the a$$ for them.
