SCREWED BY HONDA

I went to Honda Of Westport in CT, because my car was making wierd noises in the right passenger side wheel, dropped it off and made sure the volume was at ZERO on my system, went to pick it up the next day and they were like o your car needed NEW brakes, i was like Why do I need new brakes after only 11,000 miles!? They gave me some BS excuse ........I asked if i could see the old brake pads and they said they didnt know where they were and charged me $150.00 for new brakes and i went out to my car, Turned on my car... my sytem was BLASTING, i was like WAit a freakin MINUTE......then i look at my gas gauge and see im missing 1/4 tank of gas! And i hear my subwoofer making wierd noises and I look in my trunk and see that my Sub woofer is BLOWN! SO SOMEONE WENT ON A JOYRIDE WITH MY CAR! I was like WHAT THE F*CKK!........I tried to get back into the Honda Service center and they had CLOSED! ........Soooo i went back the next day and I told them everything and how pissed i was and all they could say was WE ARE NOT RESPONIBLE and YOU HAVE NO PROOF WE DID ANYTHING.........I had some Four letter words for them and I left ............. You guys have any ideas of what i should do??? Other than bombing the place

dude,i was screwed too.i blew a head gasket and it was under warantee but anyways, they took a week to fix my car and when i got it back, it drove ok but i wasnt satisfied.then i noticed that my gas was all the way to empty when i took it there w/ a full tank,my 60 cd's were stolen and my subwoofer was blown. and theres like 40 extra miles on the car. i complained to the dealership and i also complained to american honda corp. they sent me a few papers to file a complaint. thats it. that was b/s. i still havent got me new subs, and they still havent found my cd's.

that really sucks! i'm sorry to hear you guys got screwed. my honda dealer, southeastern honda in palm bay FL, is really good. then again, i always take every single little thing out of my car before i take it there and i always go and stand right outside the bay they've got my car in and watch them work. maybe its because i'm a girl and they're trying to impress me or some sh*t but they always work very quickly and efficiently and they've never messed anything up. i hope you get your cd's back and your stereos fixed.

That does really suck, I would say talk to your DA and see what he/she says about it. Or take it up with Honda America, forget the middle man, they dont do anything.

call your lawyer,, send email to manager. send mail to better business bureau... send letter to american honda... and sue the a$$ out of them!

n when they servicie your car.. they should write down the milage number... if it changes dramacically.. u have the advantage!

every major news channel like cbs, nbc, or abc has a trouble shooter or someone to fight on your side... once they are on the 5 or 6 o'clock news in your area it is horrible for business. they will get in the dealer's face with a tv camera and that will get answers trust me. if you guys are in ny then like 1010 wins radio has a consumer action squad. if anything check out www.1010wins.com and ask them on there and they will give you a referral to someone in your area. dont let them go.. if you are persistent then only will you win.. you will get money for the sub, the cd's and everything else. in the mean time go to your local police station and atleast make a report of the items which were stolen.....

That really bites the big one! I had a spoiler put on my accord at the dealer a few years back. About an hour after picking the car up I noticed a dent in the rear of the car. I called the gm and he agreed to fix it no questions asked. In my opinion, you shouldn't have left the dealer w/o getting in and letting them know what happened. Give the Gm a call and see what he has to say.

oh wait my bad I didnt remember you said CT. That means you are probably in the 1010AM listening area. call their consumer action squad and call like one of the big networks like nbc or abc. like 4 on your side or something like that.. they will fight for you and get answers.....

I am trying to remember, but I am pretty sure everytime I have taken my car into get anything done at Honda they write down the miles on something, I think the Invoice. Prove that you had significant more miles then you have pretty good chance, I would think. Call the GM, Honda Corprate Office, and shan01ski had a great idea, call news stations they most of the time of troubleshooters, and call the BBB. Be persistent and you should get something maybe not new speakers but at least something

PS That sucks..

Damn... makes you wanna carry a gun whenever you go to dealers. That's f'ckin bullsh't for doing something to your car without telling you they were gonna do it. It doens't hurt to say "You need new brake pads." What if you didn't have the $ for the new pads?

For the blow subwoofer, they should replace it and give you your money back for the pads... keep the pads. (You can't get the old ones back anyways!) They should pay you for a full tank of gas, too. That dealership does BAD business. Maybe you should go to another one from now on? I wouldn't want to ever go back to that dealer if that happened to me. Seriously, a foot up someone's *** can be amusing but it leaves your foot smelling like sh't.

As a police officer, I only know how to screw someone lawfully. Follow the instructions below and you can guarantee they are going to have some problems. Tell the dealership what you plan on doing first, and refuse to settle anything and be polite. Tell the manager it is beyond their contol now and that you are refering what you believe to be unlawful activity to law enforcement agencies. THEN:

1.) Contact Honda North America by telephone and in writing. Make it clear that you want to make a formal complaint against the dealership and that you want it investigated.
2.) Contact the Connecticut State Better Business Bureau. I believe this can be done online. File a formal complaint against the dealership.
3.) Contact the Connecticut State Attorney General's Office alleging that you believe that you were scammed for the brake pads. Indicate that it is not possible for our vehicle to have needed new break pads at 11,000 miles. (I just had my 15,000 mi service done, they said my brake pads are fine). Also inform them that upon request, the dealership was unable to produce your old parts. Allege fraud.
4.) As for the half a tank missing, contact the police department having jurisdiction over the dealership. Request that you file a supporting affadavit for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Also indicate that you were scammed for the brake pads. Again, allege fraud, which is a crime. Allege larceny for the half a tank of gas missing.
5.) And finally, contact the Connecticut State Department of Motor Vehicles, or whichever state agency handles the licensing of motor vehicle repair shops. Inform them too of what happened and file a complaint. The repair dept. could lose their license or be fined.

I can ASSURE you that this will have much more of an effect than paintballing the place, cursing at the employees, etc. By following the above, there is the potential for serious fines, and perhaps even an arrest if the evidence is strong enough. Make it clear to the dealership that you are not stupid and that you will not tolerate what they are doing. I urge you to follow everything I have outlined above. Feel free to PM me if you have any further questions.

Edited for spelling.

Thanks!! Someone could really be in some hot water if Cristo follows through on what I suggested. At the very least, it's going to cause some headaches for the dealership. It's not very nice being harassed by multiple goverment agencies, the local police, and the better business bureau all at the same time. Oh well, serves em right for trying to swindle someone. I always demand my old parts back--the fact that they couldn't produce them to the customer raises suspicion in my mind.

And I thought I was getting screwed. Honda here charges almost $100 for oil change and tire rotation. You guys got some real issues. Hope that doesn't happen to me.

that sucks..........hope something gets done about it......since I'm in the same situation , got my car it was all good. Thought I should wash it just to insure I inspect the enitre body..... Murphys Law I find stone chips!!! and this is wierd..... they are on the driver side door crack between door and front fender.....also the trunk seam where the trunk meets the bumper and back fender.......and others. So i take it back to Honda and They basic say thats not there fault.....gave me some free touch up paint and put me on my way. Anyways I dropped my keys and it chipped the paint on floor / door jam....I have pictures of these chips.......So decided to take it to my local body shop and import shop who I know and they thought a new clear coat hardener should solve this problem. We did that and life seems to be good......

I was WONDERING if any has lots a fine stone chips on the front...understandable due to driving....I don't drive on gravel roads but still currently have about 20 to 30 stone chips fairly small ..... THank God, I'm getting good at filling these!!!!

l8r darkside420

I swear murphys law = honda civic
