squeeking rear shocks

My rear stock shocks make sqeeking noises when im going over small bumps. I usually hear them while backing out, or driving out of my driveway or parking spot because im going slow and the engine dosn't drown them out. When it has rained, or if their's fog in the air, the squeeking is usally louder. Does anyone know what it could be?

They might be leaking. Get it checked out during your next oil change or servicing.

Have the same problem. The dealer is actually changing all the suspension bushings right now, tough i still suspect my struts are leaking, in any case my recommendation is that if your car is still under warranty, make the dealer fix it.

After months of living with the squeak i took it to the dealer. the cars handling was beggining to feel seriously affected, the tail would jump out in rough pavement and the ride was feeling very harsh.

I´ll let you know how the dealer fixes it in the end.

i just took mine in 2 days ago. They told me it was the bushings and that they fixed the problem, but when i got home and pulled into my driveway, guess what? The squeeking was back. So now I have to bring it in again!

Here´s what the dealer did: First they just put some rubber stuff around the bushings, which worked for about 5 days. I took it back and they replaced the bushings with the 2k2 model ones. There is a slight difference (I was told) between the 02 and the 01 bushings. so far I´ve been driving the car for about 5 days now since it was fixed and it seems to be working now.

my recommendation is to get it fixed as soon as possible because at first it is only a squeak but later you will feel the rear suspension deteriorating and becoming very bouncy.

there´s also the issue of leaking struts, most people have the problem on their front suspension, but it might also be the rear ones.

I heard some noise like some metal is vibrating when I go over bumps and rought road sometimes, do u think this is bad strut noise or just something inside my dashboard is rattling

The most similar comparison would be a little kid jumping on his bed, like old springs squeaking. For me it turned out the bushings were rubbing with the metal parts of the suspension, the struts and springs were OK. I´ve been driving the car all week long under rainy weather and its finally gone.
