Question Converter bolt substitute

I have an 2003 EX SRS 1.7
Purchased Walker 54399 cat converter but it didn’t come with the converter bolts pressed into rear where flange attaches to b-pipe.
Honda gets $13 per bolt. Ouch! Are these necessary or can I purchase a high grade bolt and nut and be confident it will survive the heat and tough Midwest environment?
Also wondered if the rear flange on cat should have a groove machined into the flanges to accept the exhaust washer/ring? I haven’t yet disassembled pipe? Reference par numbers below.

Bolt, Converter - Honda (18176-P08-003)

Gasket, Pre Chamber (52.5MM-53.5MM) - Honda (18393-SH3-S00)

Cheers

Re: Converter bolt substitute

Just use normal bolts, grade 5 or better
