Question Battery Drain?

Hey! I need some help! I have a 2009 Honda Civic EX Sedan. I have replaced the battery and starter and car was running great. Now the car wont start if it's turned off for more than a hour. The voltage on the battery is good. If I remove the negitive cable off the terminal the battery is running over 12 volts if I put it back on it drops it down to under 11 volts and you can hear a click under the hood. Which is leading to the assumption that something is draining the battery. Any ideas what it could be??? Any help would be appreciated!!!!

and you can hear a click under the hood.
I bet the CLICK is the compressor clutch engaging when you connect the battery cable.

Verify that is in fact what you hear. You should be able to see i move when someone connects the cable. ( If you start the engine with the AC turned off, the compressor clutch is probably stuck on or engaged. If it has burped out a cloud of freon, it may need recharged after this is solved.)

If it is the clutch engaging (CLICK!), simply locate and replace the relay for the compressor clutch. It's stuck on.

This post has relay location and Honda part number to order for the improved relay:

Re: Battery Drain?

The click is coming from under the hood someone possibly near coil packs? Any idea where this relay is located?? My ac has been giving me issues. Blows cold for twenty mins or so then it barely blows out air won't cool car then if I shut car off and restart ac is cool again until it decides to repeat the same thing. Does this sound like it's caused from the relay? Thank you so much you may have saved me a lot of money I don't have to find the problem!!!

Re: Battery Drain?

You should get the relay out before it blast the safety bypass.

The snowflake relay is the one to remove.
