SRS light problem?
SRS light problem?
Hey Guys,
So yesterday I started to notice tye SRS light stay on for quite a bit... Timed it and after turning on the car its there for 8 seconds. If i turn just the battery on it will be there for 8 seconds as well but when started it doesnt come back. Pretty sure it shouldnt be there any longer than a few (like the same time at the maintenance light)
Anyone know what might be going on if anything?
Thanks!

Re: SRS light problem?
SRS light coming on for 8 seconds then goes out and stays out is normal and correct, as long as it does not turn on again while driving.
I think this is explained in your owners manual.
The light stays on while the control unit performs its self testing after it powers up.
Other dash warning lights might only stay on for 2-5 seconds.
Have you had your airbag recall done yet?

Re: SRS light problem?
(I wonder if they are trying to remove everything that was made by Takata or something and replace them with another brand.)
To check for open recalls in Canada, try the Honda Canada site:
https://www.honda.ca/recalls
Or ask a Canadian dealership to check your VIN

Some cars have gotten multiple replacements under the recalls, so you should check the status of your VIN from time to time.
