2005 1.6 sport petrol help needed braking and starting

2005 1.6 sport petrol help needed braking and starting
I just bought a 2005 1.6 sport 3 door petrol
on the braking there seems to be a little but of movement in the pedal before the brakes bite as such is this normal ?
when starting the car it starts first time but just seems to struggle a bit, seems not to crank the engine straight away it is almost as if it goes 2 or 3 times what could this issue be or is this normal ?
the passenger seat does not flip forward using the upper lever only the bottom lever is there any tutorials of how to fix this?
the car has 10 years of service stamps from a honda garage
