Exclamation High pitched noise coming from the car.

I have a 2002 Honda Civic Ex coupe. When I start driving, I get a high pitched noise coming from the car and the car starts breaking on its own. The car also seems to do this very often. I have checked the belt and it is fine. My ABS light in my dashboard is staying lit. I can't seem to find a fix for it. Someone help me please.

Re: High pitched noise coming from the car.

It might be dirt getting in the sensor have you tried washing the car? Dirt and debri can cause a false fault. Dirt on the rotors and hubs can and will cause a shrilling sound.

If it is constant I'd say you have a seized caliper.

When is the last time you replaced the calipers?

I would try to find a shop which can give you a free visual inspection, if they say it is the caliper, replacing it yourself is super easy.

Sounds like the ABS system is acting up and engaging when it's not supposed to. Check the ABS wheel sensors first, and the ABS module for visual issues and then dig deeper if you find nothing.
