AC Wiring Issue??
AC Wiring Issue??
2004 Civic EX
Was recently in a slow speed (5mph) front end accident. The bumper, radiator and fans were replaced. I had it repaired at a local shop. When I picked up the car the shop told me that the AC was having problems but it must have been that way since before the accident because nothing was touched with the AC. I know for a fact the AC was working just fine before hand.
Heres the problem: When the AC is turned on (light is on) and the fan is on, the compressor is off and the unit is blowing normal air (not cold air). When the AC is off (light is off) and the fan is on, the compressor turns on and the unit blows cold air. So its backwards. To me it sounds like a ground issue. Thoughts?
Also, when I have the air set to come out on the floor and dash, at times it wont blow out those vents, But I can hear it blowing somewhere. This also sounds electrical.
Whats going on here? Did the shop short out part of my system? More importantly how to fix it? Is it the transistor unit I read so much about?
Help!! Thanks!

Re: AC Wiring Issue??
I think you may need to visit (pay) a really competent tech that is really familiar with these systems and how they are supposed to work.
If the issue does turn out to be accident related (or related to/caused by the repairs from the accident), then your insurance co needs to be involved in the AC repairs.
