Throttle body/TPS
Throttle body/TPS
SO i've been having some idle issues as well as a hesitation when I first turn the car on and put it into drive and start to go the rpms will drop down and eventually kick back in. Does it once and ONLY (if it does it isn't ALL the time) when I turn the car on. I can be driving it afterwards and be at red lights and nada. But my dad and the guy he works with (hands on tech teacher for mechanics) is thinking it's the TPS due to the voltage readings they were getting off of it. IS IT true that you have to replace the entire throttle body if you are going to replace the TPS? Or can you just replace the TPS and reset the ECU by pulling the fuse and doing the "idle learn"?
Also someone else said they had same issues and turned out to be the MAF sensor same question as to if I need to replace the entire throttle body or can the sensor it's self just be replaced?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

I don't even want to guess what your running problem is, you didn't give much info to go on.
You've already got a used throttle body that was supposed to be in great condition, you've complained of trans issues, and a check engine light. How many of these things have been fixed?
---------
Honda sells the TPS already attached to the throttle body (for a good reason).
You may or may not be able to locate a non-OE source that sells the TPS separately.
If you do replace JUST the TPS sensor, the adjustment of the TPS is critical to proper operation. There is no "learning" of the new TPS, it must be properly adjusted upon installation. (An idle relearn does no good if the TPS isn't correct.)
Honda sells the MAP sensor by itself.
Get into any of the many online dealer parts catalogs, you can check out for yourself how these parts are sold.
Re: Throttle body/TPS
An auto tranny problem may cause the ECU to throw tps code. It happened to my car. I fixed the tranny and the code never came back. I also put back my old tps and it didn't throw the code.
You can change just the TPS if know what you are doing.
You can try to cleaning your TB, IACV, TPS connectors and replace your PCV valve see if that helps.
TPS (THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR)
Detects TP sensor signal
RED/BLK
With throttle fully open: about 4.8 V
With throttle fully closed: about 0.5 V
DYI: Remove TPS (throttle position sensor)

I got my OEM keihin TPS from this seller on eBay.
