Hi,
My car is:
Honda 2001 HX
CV Transmission
My problem is:
After initially starting my car, when I shift from park to drive, the rev dips near 0. When this happens, the headlights dim a little and the car shutters. Then the rev goes back up to normal afterwards.
This is especially noticeable in cold weather and less noticeable after I've driven my car that day. After I drive it for a while, it doesn't do it anymore.
If I shift from park to reverse, it dips very little. If I shift from reverse to drive, it dips a lot. Essentially, it dips when I try to go into drive after ignition.
If I try to gas when the rev dips (ie gas right after shifting into drive), my car stalls.
This is annoying because when I reverse out of my driveway, oncoming traffic needs to wait for me because of that 3 second wait before I can gas.
Btw, I have no knowledge about cars. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: Rev Drops
You could search for "idle learn" and come up with this: https://www.civicforums.com/forums/1...ml#post4619323
