Hi folks, first post.

Recently my SRS light came on and I tried the usual reset trick involving a paperclip- but no joy.. So I bridged the OBD2 plug and it flashed out SRS trouble code: 9 long and 3 short flashes.
Thats the drivers side belt buckle switch faulty- no drama except I live in Canada.
I would rather not have to play around with the dealer, and could not care less about the pre-tensioning belt buckle, but I do want to end this in order to have a functioning airbag- should the need for one so arise.
Here is my question:

If you remove the two tamperproof torx screws on the belt buckle, you can clearly see the microswitch. This has to be the offending component, so- if I were to join those wires, bypassing the switch altogether would the SRS computer be fooled into thinking that everything is good at the belt buckle and void the SRS indicator? (once I use my paperclip)

Your thoughts and constructive comments or ideas apprieciated.
