How to read flash codes (SRS)
I searched for this and couldn't find it anywhere...does anyone know how to read the flash codes for SRS on a 2004 Civic? and if so is there a website that has a list of what they all mean?

Re: How to read flash codes (SRS)
Well yesterday i connected the 9 and 4 pins on the odbII port with a paperclip.....i guess this tells the system to give srs flash codes...so i have the sequence of flashes i just have no idea what they mean. Do you know of any website that translates the number of flashes into an error code?
Re: How to read flash codes (SRS)
each code consists of a main code and subcode.
Light is on for 6 seconds (bulb check), 3 second pause, then the main code, 2 second pause, then the subcode.
For the main code: 4 quick blinks= 10 then add the slower blinks to it. example- 4 quick blinks=10, 3 longer blinks= 3, 10+3= code 13
For the subcode: just add the blinks
Post the results and I can tell you.

Re: How to read flash codes (SRS)
It looks like code 22 with a sub-code of 1.....which i found out is the passenger-side belt tensioner (correct me if im wrong). I already had this replaced no more than 2 months ago...is this a common problem on 7th gens?
Re: How to read flash codes (SRS)
You have 2 choices:
1. Take a loan out and let Honda diagnose it. If it's the tensioner then they'll replace it like the last one. If it's the SRS unit you might as well hand over your paycheck. If it's the floor harness, you can change that yourself.
2. Buy the SRS inflator simulator (07SAZ-TB4011A)- $140 and the SRS simulator lead (07XAZ-SZ30100)- $72 to diagnose it yourself. This will tell you whether the tensioner, SRS unit, or floor harness is bad- which you would still have to buy and replace. If it turns out that you have to replace the SRS unit then you have to have a Honda factory scantool to reset the SRS unit anyways.
At this point the only thing you can do that doesn't cost an arm and a leg is try to reset the SRS system:
1. With the ignition OFF, jump the MES 2P connector with a wire. **DO NOT USE A PAPERCLIP, it will ruin the connector**
It's in the front of the under-dash fusebox. The MES connector is the yellow one:

2. Turn the ignition to ON(II)
3. The SRS indicator will come on for 6 seonds and then go off. Remove the wire within 4 seconds of the indicator goes off.
4. The SRS indicator will come on again. Reconnect the wire to the MES connector within 4 seconds.
5. The SRS indicator will blink twice to indicate the memory is erased.
6. Turn the ignition to OFF and wait 10 seconds.
7. Turn the ignition to ON(II). If the SRS indicator comes on for 6 seconds and goes off the system is ok.
Some notes: Repeat the procedure a couple of times if it doesn't clear the code the first time, just in case you didn't do it right. Also check for loose/bad connections- AFTER you disconnect the battery negative terminal and wait AT LEAST 3 minutes (don't want to blow the airbags).
