DRL's
DRL's
My daytime running lights have some sort of a loose connection i'm sure...a lot of times when i start the car and release the hand brake, the DRL light stays on. Normally it's supposed to go off...Any easy ways to troubleshoot this problem?
Re: DRL's
Nope, when the DRL light is on it means the lights are off, according to what my car is doing, sometimes they work, most of the time they dont. One time randomly they came on as i was driving, so the light went off.

01-05 ??
No buzzing/screeching noise present when the light is on ??
You could try locating and tapping the case of the drl control unit to see if it causes a change of state.

Re: DRL's
Okay hate to sound like too much of a noob, I've got dim drl's (that's normal operation of highbeams at reduced power) I've got low beams. But I've got no highbeams. Ive replaced the H4 bulbs with new, the old ones were burned out on the highbeam only. so what gives?
I've got the glovebox opened up and see a bunch of wiring, (hello ecu) so which is the Daytime Running Light module? In the very front of the panel there are 2 modules, one is brown and one is blue. Or am I totally out to lunch? If all I have to do is some re-soldering no problem, That'll save me about 140 bucks, that's a lot of Loot for aftermarket lights.
I was also thinking of just using a "normally closed" relay and just rigging my own relay to the power lead on the Low beam wire and when the power drops from the low beam the relay would just send a full 12 volts to the highbeams. Any Idears????

Re: DRL's
7th gen drl control units are on the left side of driver, I would remove it and resolder the connector pins and relay pins. Search for the drl problem threads around.
