Angel Eyes hookup questions and DRL not working.

I think I F'd up my day running lights (DRL).

I wanted to hookup my halo light so I figure I hookup the black w/ blk and red w/ red that was going into the DRL bulb.

So basically I crimped up the ends together meaning that DRL and Halo red and black for the driver side and tested the outcome, well the Halo worked but my DRL did not come on for both sides, however my highbeem worked for both sides.

So I took the Halo red and blk wires out and only put back the DRL and still they dont turn on.

Also my DRL and Highbeem indicators on the gauge display are on if the night lights are not on.

Please some one help me, with how to hookup my halo and fix my DRL.

Civic 02, Sedan LX
Headlights are Generation 3, with H1 bulbs.

Thanks for reading.

if you live in canada, cars have DRL. I dont know much about it, but I am assuming that the DRL have a fuse or relay that control it, check that first.

What am checking for on the relay, can you be more specific.

Like what colour is the fuse for DRL and how should reset it?

well first check the fuse. Pull it out and see if the metal contact has split in the middle indicating a blown fuse, if its blown replace it with a new one of the same rating. If it blows again, then you have a short in DRL circuit. Also without even pulling it out, if you have a volt meter, check to see if you power on both sides of the fuse. should have 12-13 volts on each side. if not, the fuse is blown.

Now if that is ok, go check the relay. I think it is a 4 pin relay like this

2 3
1 4

these are the contacts on the relay. If you apply 12 volts to pin 3 and 4, you should have continuity between 1 and 2. There should be no continuity between 1 and 2 with no power at 3 and 4. you should here a clicking when you apply voltage, if it doesnt, the relay is bad.

It was the bulb that had a broken filament.

So I have now crimped the power and ground of both DRL/Highbeam and Halo together but I get DRL working and highbeam working but no Halo for both headlights.

What gives?

it's not a simple headlight swap. you're going to need the wiring harness from the canadian car, too, and that will probably cost more $ than it's worth.

as for the DRL and the angel eyes, do this: hook up your angel eyes to your parking lights. the DRL probably draws a lower amperage, so when you upset that, the fuse or the bulb will pop.

Could you tell me what colour is the parking light wire and the ground, also how can I integrate the Halo wires into the socket of parking lights.

Thanks for helping.
