Problem with AC light staying on
I have a 2001 Honda Civic Si, I bought the car recently. Has 220,000 KM on it and Works fine. However the button to turn the AC on doesn't work properly. Often times it will remain on when I did not turn it on and sometimes when trying to turn off the AC it remains on and refuses to turn off.
Please post any solutions you can think of to help me fix this problem. Everything helps,
Thanks.

Re: Problem with AC light staying on
Are you in either the floor/defrost or defrost mode when the light stays on ??
There is a procedure here to allow the A/C button to be pressed when the light comes on and release the compressor.

There is something you can do to change that?? I thought it was just stupid engineering on honda's part, where the a/c cant be turned off when the defrost modes are on...
Re: Problem with AC light staying on
Do you have a multimeter (DMM)? Can't properly diagnose without one. In the meantime, check for blown fuse 14 in the under-dash fuse/relay box and loose connections at the control panel and ground G502-
#13:

Service manual says it can only be a loose connection, the control panel, or the motor. Get a DMM and you can diagnose instead of spending money just replacing things.

Anytime you go into floor/def or def from another setting the compressor and A/C light will come back on. After you do the DIY you will be able to push the A/C button and release the compressor.
