Looking for some insight
Looking for some insight
Well i recently just purchased a 2003 civic LX with 178k miles on it,
and i was hoping i could get some help on what aftermarket parts i should start putting on it for better performance output, air intakes, exhaust, etc.
Im also somewhat new to all this and was also wondering if i were to put a short ram intake in my car then how would it fit?

Personally, I'd start by investing your money is major tune-up before moving on to upgrading performance parts.
When I got mine it had 132K or so miles on it and I did a major tune-up (replacing old worn/broken parts and upgrading to full syn oil, tires, etc.) and the car runs awesome. Now, I can upgrade the performance parts if I wanted to without worrying if the other basic parts will fail.

Re: Looking for some insight
i got a 04 civic lx and a good thing that it only had 47xxx miles on it so i didnt have to worry but once you get everything fixed and running smooth then try headers, exhaust, cold air intake, instead of the short ram
Re: Looking for some insight
I have my civic since 2 years now and didn't upgrade it with aftermarket parts yet. I waited to see if everything else on it was good before doing that. After 2 years now by only changing the ball joint on each side I'm still not doing it, (with new headlights too) the car run well like that without aftermarket parts on it. The only thing that I might change on is add some chrome mags with my marine color civic... But even that thinking about it, since I live in Montreal, Canada and the winter here is special, special in the same way as those who throw more salt during the witner than we receive snow...
So first check that everything on your car is correct, that won't need a change before the new year or soon in the future, then get yourself some aftermarket parts that you desire...
