Question D17a1

I've been roaming these forums for a while getting some ideas or what not about and well I've recently bought a 2005 Honda Civic Reverb (which is either a DX or SE) not sure and well its been a pain in the *** to really get info since there isn't really much info on them lol. But the reason why I'm writing this topic is because I do know that the current engine inside the car is a D17A1 and I was wondering if someone could help me out with whether or not the D17A1 has a single camshaft or a dual camshaft. I'm replacing the engine as it has some problems and so far I've found a single cam engine yet not sure if it would be appropriate for the car or not. If you know anything about the engine and whether or not it is a dual or single please let me know Thanks!

EDIT: not really sure if this fits under the right section but I am replacing the engine due to mechanical problems so I hope that's good enough to be posted under this section of the forum. If not then could someone kindly redirect it into the proper section. Thanks again.

Re: D17a1

Both the d17a1 and the d17a2 are SOHC. And what motor are you trying to put in it.

Re: D17a1

Well my current D17A1 engine is making some odd noises and I'm still not sure as to what it may be. For now I'm waiting to pull out the engine and to crack it open and to see what it could be. If it's not repairable or if it is going to cost more to repair than to replace I'm thinking of just swapping in another D17A1 engine in there.
