break groan

my breaks make a loud groaning noise when i break just slighty hard. im sure its not ABS.. ebcuase i never had to hit my breaks that hard. i only have 5k miles on my ex coupe. this noise seems to be loudest when its cold or when i just start the car and go.

I have had the same problem since the day i bought the car. My guess, Uneven rotors. Although HONDA says "everything's fine"....of course.

Try bringing it to the dealer. They may be able to fix it. If they check your rotors they'll know. But with these crappy new 7th gen civic's who knows? They're full of unpleasant surprises.

It may be another problem entirely.

h2k1ex is on a distinguished road
That happens to me almost daily, specially when going downhill, or braking slightly hard at low speeds. Don´t know what is happening

I've had that happen under hard breaking. I just decided to go to new breaks all together, I wouldn't want to keep these factory things on any longer than I have to.

Well get use to the problmes cuz they will keep coming. No brakes are not covered under warrenty never have been never will be. You would think they would be covered under the bumper to bumper warrenty but they aren't. There is a service bullitin on that exact problems take it to the dealership and have them look it up.

I have the same problem, everytime I break(at slow speeds) I hear a loud clinking noise, it usually happens when I pull up into my driveway or when I come up to a stop light. Also, I hear it a lot whenever I pull in reverse. Does anyone what the problem is?

i've had this problem in a few different cars, but not the civic. i believe part of this problem is not breaking in the brakes properly when they are brand new.
